A Resolution For Us All

Our parish church is currently closed for public services, although at present it will remain open for personal prayer at set times. This means that we need to make our homes into churches. Here are two ideas that we can all put into immediate effect:

1) Make a prayer corner at home - perhaps with a candle, a crucifix, a statue/image of Our Lady or one of the saints, an open Bible or prayer book. This can remain a focus for us as we try to keep alive our patterns of prayer or start new ones.

2) Pause every day at midday in an act of solidarity with our fellow parishioners. Why not say the Rosary, the Angelus, even just an 'Our Father' or 'Hail Mary'. To remind yourself you could set an alarm on your phone. Of course, we need to make sure that each day there is space for prayer, silence and reflection.

Let us make this our resolutions for the coming days!
